Sweet and succulent - Dareringer Bourbon glaze is slathered over tender juicy ribs. Indulge in the tastes, smells and sensory experience of this finger-licking, sticky goodness of a delectable dish. Add in premium bourbon like Dareringer on the rocks, or further indulge and make the evening memorable with a sensual cocktail designed for lovers.
Ingredients
2 lb. country ribs
1 tbs brown sugar
1 tbs soy sauce
1/2 cup fine Dareringer bourbon
1 tbs vinegar
1/2 cup ketchup
1 cup hot water
1/2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1/2 tsp chili powder
1 tablespoon cumin powder
¼ teaspoon cayenne powder
Directions
BBQ Sauce
In a medium bowl, mix brown sugar, soy sauce, Dareringer bourbon, vinegar, ketchup, cayenne, water, Worcestershire sauce, cumin and chili powder. Whisk until well-blended.
Reserve ¼ cup of sauce to re-glaze ribs once finished cooking.
Cooking the Ribs
Generously salt and brown ribs in a large cast iron skillet or griddle on medium/high heat.
Drain off excess fat and add 3 tablespoons of fat to sauce made in previous step.
Pour prepared bourbon BBQ sauce over ribs.
Bake 2 hours in 300 degree oven.
Baste often to keep ribs covered while baking.
Use instant read thermometer to ensure doneness.
Let sit for 10 minutes, then glaze using food brush with remainder of sauce. Note: place in oven under broil setting for 3 minutes.
