As the leaves begin to change, our affinity for all things "autumn" change as well. This Maple Bourbon Smash Cocktial is perfect for cozy nights beside a bonfire, or just relaxing at home with a cozy blanket and PJ's. The rich, sweet taste of bourbon with a crisp hint of orange and lemon makes this cocktail a mainstay throughout the fall season!
Ingredients

2.5 ounces Cavehill four grain bourbon

1/2 ounce fresh squeezed orange juice (about one orange)

1/4 ounce fresh squeezed lemon juice

1.5 ounces of pure maple syrup, (i.e.Grade A Dark Amber). Do NOT use cheap syrups which contain corn syrup or any other added ingredients.

6 ounces Ice
- 4 dashes of Angostura bitters

1.5 ounces chilled seltzer/carbonated water (not club soda)

1/2 orange wheel

1 maraschino cherry (optional garnish)
Directions
In a rocks glass, combine the maple syrup with the orange juice, lemon juice and bitters. Stir until mixed.
Add the orange wheel and lightly muddle (crush). You can use the handle of a wooden spoon.
Add the Cavehill four grain bourbon and stir well.
Fill the glass with ice and then fill glass the rest of the way with the chilled seltzer. Enjoy!
