Even though there are so many whiskeys to choose from all over the world, we prefer to try Boxergrail Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey because it is smooth and has a really nice depth flavor. We made chocolate mousse with their whiskey and it pairs so well together!
Melt chocolate with whiskey, water, cocoa powder, sugar, and salt in a large microwave-safe bowl for 30 seconds. Keep stirring after each interval until the mixture is melted
Whisk heavy whipping cream with vanilla extract in a mixer until stiff peaks form
Fold the whipped cream into the chocolate mixture. Divide the mousse among serving glasses
Cover and chill in the refrigerator for 1-2 hours. Garnish and serve chilled.
