As autumn approaches for most of North America, it is important now more than ever to savor the last kiss of summer before it is gone; giving way to the cold and dark days ahead. What better way to sip final memory-making moments of summer than with this refreshing summer-inspired cocktail featuring Liddel French Winter Wheat Vodka and the crips, slightly bitter "punch" of pink grapefruit juice? Add to that some La Croix and Lavender and you have a tall glass of warm summer days.
Ingredients
2 tablespoons culinary-grade dried lavender
2 cups spring water
1 cup white granulated sugar
8-12 ounces ice cubes
2 Grapefruit slices, to garnish
2 ounces of lavender simple syrup (from previous step)
6 ounces pink grapefruit juice
4 ounces Pamplemousse La Croix brand soda
-
2.5 ounces Kentucky Limestone Filteres Liddel Vodka
Lavender Simple Syrup
Cocktail
Directions
Simple Syrup
Add the water, sugar, and lavender to a small saucepan and place over med/high heat. Whisk to dissolve and bring the mixture to a rolling boil.
Cover, reduce the heat to low, and simmer for 10 minutes. Remove from the heat and allow the mixture to rest for about 30 minutes, covered.
Strain the lavender from the liquid and discard using a metal mesh screen or coffee filter. Allow the mixture to cool. You can store the simple syrup in a glass container in the refrigerator for about two weeks.
Cocktail
Add ice to a cocktail shaker and to 2 (12-ounce) highball glasses. Add the grapefruit juice, Liddel Vodka and simple syrup to the shaker. Shake, then pour evenly into highball glasses. Top each drink with the remaining La Croix. Garnish with grapefruit wedges. Voila! Enjoy!
